iPhone 6 – the next level handset which is expected to launch in September – one of the most feature was that the new phone would come with a sapphire glass screen/crystal. Sapphire glass, a man made material, is one of the toughest substances around, resistant to both shattering and scratching, technicians have used diamond-tipped tools .
Apple already uses sapphire crystal for the camera lens cover and fingerprint reader on the iPhone 5S. The video was posted on YouTube last month, it seemed to confirm that sapphire glass on the iPhone 6 was a done deal.
“The claim was based on research by TrendForce LEDInside, which said that Apple was struggling to produce enough sapphire glass to keep with expected demand by people.
Analysts says that the new smartphone won’t come with the new screen glass because they can’t make it quick enough to low price.Recent statements from GT Advanced Technologies, the company that supplies Apple with sapphire glass. Apple has make a decision on screen coating to use in the iPhone 6, that company considering using sapphire screens in more expensive models of the two new, larger iPhones.
“Sapphire is scratch-resistant, but it isn’t clear that if the material will better protect against screens scratches, shattering, breaking, since sapphire’s strength depends on its thickness and cut”. And people agrees that a scratch less screen would boost Apple’s sales and reputation for innovation.
